A Review on the Book "Where The Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens is a story about Kya Clark, dubbed as the " Mash girl" in their town. It tells how she bravely survived in a cabin all alone and how her life intertwined with two boys from her town.

Honestly, I relate to Kya. I am an introvert and I have my own world that I enjoy very much

It is an exquisite book that contains thrill, love and poetry. The storytelling of the writer is comprehensible and very vivid. I like how it made me clueless on what will happen next, I clearly didn't expect the ending. I recommend this book especially, to young adults readers. It is a good book that can make you feel different emotions.

Reflecting on the Indolence of the Filipinos by Dr. Jose Rizal

Reflecting on the Indolence of the Filipinos by Dr. Jose Rizal           After reading Rizal's essay, I don't believe indolence is a hereditary trait among Filipinos. According to Rizal's statement," Indolence in the Philippines is a chronic malady but not a hereditary one." He supported it with many reasons that I absolutely agree with. He stated that, "We must confess that indolence does actually and positively exist there; only that, instead of holding it to be the cause of the backwardness and the trouble, we regard it as the effect of the trouble and the backwardness". For me as a reader, he wanted to state that indolence is not the cause of mishaps, but bad circumstances can cause a person to be indolent. Among his reasons were the climate of the Philippines, the piratical attacks, the negligence of the Spaniards, forced labor and abuse of the Spaniards, gambling, the influence of the church, and the crooked educational system of the Spaniards. ...

Self is an Accumulated Learning

There came a point in our lives where we asked ourselves, "Who are we?" and failed to fully know ourselves. This leads us to make bad decisions and have failed relationships with others. As humans, it is critical to understand ourselves as we grow into the people we want to be.      The self is a repository of knowledge. It is the idea that all of a person's knowledge from childhood to the present defines him.The knowledge a person gains from his environment as he grows up is important in defining him.As such, everything that is learned from family, school, neighborhood, and society will have an impact on a person. What a person sees or hears is processed by the mind and learned as a result, and it sometimes becomes mindlessly a part of that person. These beliefs, teachings, values, and knowledge instilled in a person's mind will define that person because they are the foundation built in him. For instance, a person who was born into ...

A Young Adult's Review of the book "The Path of Prosperity" by James Allen

I was looking for a new book to read when I stumbled to this one. The title poked my interest. I thought, Hey, I'm 19 and it would not be bad to read more serious genre. I am not a bookworm, but sometimes I read books to pass time and mostly are fictions. As a troubled young adult in my new phase  in life, I longed for guidance that my parents can't barely give, so I settled to a less hassle alternative, reading books. Reading "The Path of Prosperity" is very overwhelming. I can't hardly recall any phrase from the book. I guess it was too much for me but I did finish it in two days. However, I believe that I need to reread it to fully understand the context of the book. In this blog, I will be sharing to you my thoughts about the book as a novice in reading and writing as well.  It was a great book. There was a lot of ideas that can put you to think deeply and unfamiliar words to make you grab a dictionary. It was really knowledgeable book where you can gain idea...
